On todays’ show I mentioned a couple of web pages that I like to use. Here they are:

www.epinons.com

Handy place were any user and comment on any product they might happen to own. It’s saved me from buying a few lemons all ready. Keep in mind though, that people with bad experiences are far more likely to post that those who have a good experience.

www.getfirefox.com

Location where you can download one of the better web browsers, for Windows or for Mac. They also have a pretty good e-mail client called Thunderbird. If you’re using OS X 10.3 or older and you’d like a better web browser or e-mail client, it can’t hurt to give one of these a spin. (Being free does have advantages.)

If you’re using OS X 10.4, I’m not so sure they’re necessarily better. In that case, it’s really a matter of personal preference. I’m a Mail.app and Safari.app kind of guy.

A couple of sites I like to go to for Mac supply shopping:

www.datamem.com

Great prices on memory (RAM) and a very easy to navigate site. Just click on the “Apple Memory” link, and you can scroll through a list of Mac models to find yours. They also have very good customer service. If you’re not sure about what to order, you can call them and they are quite helpful.

www.macsales.com

Also known as “Other World Computing”. Great folks, good prices, and they are incredibly focused on the Mac market specifically. They have a pretty wide selection of Mac accessories and they really know what they’re selling. If you’re not sure what you need, these are the folks to help you with the decisions.
